RANDALL GOODGAME’S DOVE-NOMINATED ‘SLUGS & BUGS’ SERIES RETURNS MARCH 18 WITH ‘SING THE BIBLE, VOLUME 2’

RANDALL GOODGAME’S DOVE-NOMINATED SLUGS & BUGS
SERIES RETURNS MARCH 18 WITH SING THE BIBLE, VOLUME 2

Sing the Bible, Volume 2

NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Sing the Bible, Volume 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2014’s Dove Award-nominated Sing the Bible with Slugs & Bugs, is set to bow March 18. The fifth installment in acclaimed singer/songwriter Randall Goodgame’s immensely popular Slugs & Bugs series, Sing the Bible, Volume 2 was produced by Ben Shive (Rend Collective, MercyMe) and is the second release to feature word-for-word Scripture songs.

Throughout the album’s 14 tracks, Sing the Bible, Volume 2 incorporates 43 Scripture verses from 12 Books of the Bible, taking listeners on a journey through celebration, struggle and repentance, culminating in forgiveness. The song sequence tells the story of the Christian life in an accessible format for children, while also meaningful for parents.

“These songs are rich in practical instruction, specifically about how Christians act as they are being transformed by the Holy Spirit,” Goodgame explains of the project’s overarching purpose. “They’re also packed with bedrock Truths of the Christian faith. By combining these elements, I hope the project will serve as a musical ‘handbook’ for the Christian home.”

Highlights of Sing the Bible, Volume 2 include “Whoever Sows,” with special guests Andrew Peterson (as Chauncy Raccoon) and Amy Goodgame (as Shelly Sharkbug); a musical rendition of The Ten Commandments including Count Dracula and Frankenstein; and the reverent album closer, Isaiah 53’s “By His Wounds.”

“I approached ‘By His Wounds’ with racial reconciliation on my mind,” Goodgame explains. “Black voices and white voices join together to sing, ‘By His wounds, we are healed.’ Of course, we take these words from the prophet Isaiah and point them at Christ, acknowledging Him as the Messiah. But His wounds heal every strife. Because of His wounds, war will cease and He will wipe away every tear. By His wounds, racial wounds will also heal.”

A singer and sought-after songwriter, Goodgame has penned selections for Caedmon’s Call, VeggieTales, Jason Gray and Ginny Owens, among others. Along with award-winning singer/songwriter Andrew Peterson, Goodgame created Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies in 2007 to an overwhelming response from parents. Goodgame, who now helms the series, has released A Slugs & Bugs Christmas (2010); 2011’s Slugs & Bugs Under Where?; the Dove Award-nominated Sing the Bible with Slugs & Bugs (2014); and a Slugs & Bugs Vacation Bible School curriculum. His popular Slugs & Bugs LIVE concert for families makes numerous tour stops across the U.S. and the U.K. each year.

(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) — In anticipation of the February 10th release of Little Praise Party: Taste and See, Yancy has released a new promotional video, including testimonies from parents, pastors and recording artist Jaci Velasquez. View the video here: http://youtu.be/aJ4iiG1LRRk.

“Little Praise Party started as a collection of songs for my local church to use,” says Yancy. “It’s been amazing to see how God has used those songs in churches and homes around the world.”

Taste and See, the fourth release in the popular worship music series for young children, will be available on CD and DVD, featuring 15 easy-to-sing songs (plus two bonus tracks exclusively available at iTunes). The Little Praise Party series is available online and in Christian bookstores everywhere via Elevate Entertainment and Syntax Distribution. For church and classroom use, there is also a Church DVD available that includes all 15 songs plus the soundtracks, mp4 files and a group viewing license.

“Hearing children sing God’s praises never gets old,” says Yancy. “And it gives me chills hearing their sweet little voices sing their love to the Lord. Music is a powerful thing. It’s an important tool that we have to use in our homes and churches to plant Biblical truth in the hearts of kids. It’s the very reason we started making Little Praise Party music.”

Yancy’s Little Praise Party series engages kids from the very start with non-stop sing-along fun for the entire family. In addition to CDs, each project in the series has a companion DVD filled with exciting animation with on-screen lyrics to help visualize the words and stories portrayed within the songs. The popular Little Praise Party app, available in both iOS & Android formats, features new videos each month in English and Spanish.

“I introduced my kids to Little Praise Party, from Yancy, and it’s really adorable listening to them sing their songs,” said recording artist Jaci Velasquez. “As a mom, my hope and my prayer is that everything that I’m putting into my kids is positive and good and encouraging and hopeful. Because whatever goes in, comes out.”

“We need to begin the process of passing on our faith and Christian values to our children at an early age,” says Yancy. “We really can’t start too soon. My heart and prayer is that this generation would Taste and See that the Lord is good.”

For more than a decade, Yancy has been making music for Christian music fans of all ages. As a songwriter, she has penned songs with Third Day frontman Mac Powell, wrote the Jaci Velasquez hit “Something Beautiful” and Avalon’s chart-topping “I Don’t Want To Go.” As an artist, Yancy has released radio-friendly pop/rock albums and multiple projects for kids and young adults, while sharing the stage with Michael W. Smith, Newsboys, Plumb and many more. Yancy also pens a monthly column for KidzMatter Magazine, and has written and produced the music and videos for Standard Publishing’s Vacation Bible School curriculum since 2012, reaching over 1,000,000 kids each year.

NASHVILLE, May 16, 2013 – Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, actor, author, husband and father, Jason Crabb, has announced his first children’s book. One God, One You has officially released and is currently available at all Jason Crabb concerts, events and online at www.JaseCrabb.com.

One God, One You follows the story of Evan, a young boy who loves to sing and play his ukulele. At a Jason Crabb concert, he receives an unexpected present – his very own Jase the Crabb®. In his dreamland adventure with Jase®, Evan learns just how special and important his love of music is. He discovers that the things he enjoys doing most are gifts from God — gifts with a purpose and a perfect plan, straight from heaven.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to write a children’s book. This has been a dream of mine – to impact the lives of our most precious gift, our children,” says Jason. “As a father, I know how important it is for those little eyes to read good, positive, material. This book lets the reader know they are something special and that God created them with a purpose! I hope this will touch the hearts of children, parents, grandparents and anyone with a child in their life. All children need to know they are special!”

JASEThe name of the character, Jase®, holds a special meaning to Crabb. Derived from the initials of his family – J(ason) A(shleigh) S(hellye) E(mma) – the name is also what his late Grandfather would call him. “I would visit my grandfather in the summer months and help him around the farm. I can’t even remember how many times I heard him call out to me – “JASE, come on over here and help me out!” – it just seemed like a natural fit to name this character after my grandfather.”

Jason Crabb has partnered with award-winning illustrator Anita DuFalla to bring Jase® and his friends to life. Anita’s clients include McGraw-Hill, Harcourt (Brace), Benchmark Education Company, Washington Post among others.

“When I saw Anita’s work and witnessed her heart for this, I knew God had brought the right person to this project,” shares Crabb. “Her creativity and talent have brought my little buddy, Jase®, to life!”

JASE® CRABBThis first book launches the ten-book Jase® Series, as Evan learns just how special he is and more lessons that come straight from the Bible – stories that reveal the goodness and love of God to children, families and caregivers from all walks of life. Children, parents and teachers can log on to www.JaseCrabb.com where they can print off curriculum, coloring pages, certificates of completion, learn about Jase® Univeristy and comment on the books. In addition to Crabb, a creative team compiled of Donna Scuderi and Philip & Tina Morris were an integral part of the team contributing to the overall foundation and direction of the book series.

New Parents Make Music Together To Fund Parenthood

Lead singer of The Classic Crime, Matt MacDonald and his wife have taken to making music to help fund their newfound parenthood. As “Vocal Few,” the duo released a new 4-song EP today, which you can get as a digital download or a limited edition 10″ vinyl. Check out their story below… http://vocalfew.com/

Once in a while things just happen because they make sense.

Vocal Few is Matt MacDonald (singer/songwriter of The Classic Crime) and his beautiful wife Kristie (singer/pianist/lover of Matt MacDonald).

For years Kristie pled with Matt to record songs with her, but Matt, being lazy and a bad husband, always thought “Ugh, that sounds like a lot of work,” and shifted topics whenever the project was brought up.

In March of 2011, Matt and Kristie were surprised by a little line on a pregnancy test. It especially shocked Matt, who eventually realized through a long chain of epiphanies, “Oh crap! How are we going to pay for this?”

Kristie smiled. “The EP, of course.”

Matt went off to Australia for a few weeks to think about it (and play shows with his band).

In the land Down Under, Matt was struck with how lazy and carefree everyone was. He felt right at home. On the Gold Coast they have a saying for when people worry. “She’ll be right,” they say, “No big deal mate, she’ll be right.” Matt started telling himself this when he got stressed about how his daughter might survive in this world with a dead-beat musician for a father. “She’ll be right,” he’d think to himself, “She’ll be right.”

Light bulb.

That’s the name of the band! Matt thought. No, that’s more of an album title. But it’s great because the proceeds will go to buy diapers and pay for baby checkups and all the weird things babies need and she won’t starve or die because this EP will ensure, in part, that She’ll Be Right!

So the She’ll Be Right EP was born, and Matt and Kristie went to work recording as the baby grew.

The project name Vocal Few was settled on for layers upon layers of meanings. Both band members sing the vocals, there are only two in the band, which qualifies as a few. Also, in society the vocal few can change culture, because they’re vocal, active participants in the social discourse. In other words, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and Matt and Kristie want their songs to squeak, loudly, until everybody in the world is crying out to grease them. Because why not?

Matt and Kristie’s baby girl was born December 12th, 2011.

Please help them buy diapers by purchasing this EP.
